Nutrition Focus: Counseling Options for 2008---
It's hard to pick up a magazine without a story about dramatic weight loss, especially at the start of a new year.  How many times have you jumped on the bandwagon of a new diet, lost some weight, and gained it back again as soon as you stopped the diet?  It's an enormously frustrating and defeating experience for millions, and its fault lies not in any weakness on your part, but on the essential nature of dieting. It doesn't work.

What works is steady attention to changing to foods that truly nourish you and are really made of food, not of chemicals and preservatives. How many times have you seen an ad for an apple, or for steel cut oatmeal on television? You simply don't because these foods don't make money for the food conglomerates that dominate the food industry.

In my work with groups and individuals, I show you how to eat healthy and happy with simple,  easy to prepare foods. It is amazing what happens when you begin to eat this way.  Your food costs will decrease, your taste buds will awaken, and your sense of satisfaction will increase so that your cravings diminish and your begin to feel energized once again. Attaining sucess in this area leads to success in many aspects of your life - your sense of calm, your improved self-esteem, your desire to be more active, and a reduced risk of dietary-related diseases including Type II diabetes and heart disease.

If you are ready for nutritional support that will truly help you, here are some program choices for you:

  • Individual Health Counseling Program:  we meet privately twice monthly in person or by phone for 6 months and in addition to provifing you with information and support in making healthy food choices, this program is tailored to your individual needs. This is especially helpful for people with specific health challenges.
  • Group Health Counseling Program:  This weekly program starts on Monday January 14 in Norwood and will consist of 6 one hour sessions. We will address healthy food choices, menu planning, lifestyle factors, grocery shopping and pantry supplies. Recipes, food smaples and other materials will be provided

If you see a program here that resonates for you, please be in touch for registration information.  It has been my experience that you know when the time is right, and if now is the time for you, I would be  honored to help and support you.

In this culture of increasing obesity and  food-related illnesses, I am passionate about helping you in wading through the hype and returning to a way of eating that truly nourishes you.  We truly are what we eat; our cells are an outcome of everything we put in our bodies. When we regularly put healthy, clean foods in our bodies, we enhance our ability to prevent not only weight gain, but also illness and decline.
