Why it matters
Foods with additives and chemicals stress your body, can affect reproductive health, and overall make your body work harder to protect you from disease. Here are 10 things you can do to when making food choices::
What to look for
buy meat and poultry with no added hormones or antibiotics
buy whole grain bread with as few ingredients as possible
refer to ewg.org dirty dozen list and always choose organic for those 12 fruits and veggies
buy organic milk if you drink dairy milk
avoid packaged products like Hamburger Helper; make your own seasonings
buy whole cheese, not ‘lite’ or ‘spread’
never buy diet soda; soda is a poor choice, but diet soda is worse
make your own cookies to avoid chemicals in packaged ones
vary your food choices to avoid food sensitivities
cook with stainless steel, ceramic, glass, and cast-iron pots and pans; no non-stick
